Bungie unveiled their latest update today at 3:09 PM PDT. The first major announcement was that they had finally completed the game. It's all over folks. They went on to thank the contract staff.
In the first section they clarify that Zealot is NOT a Midship remake. They both take place on a covenant spacecraft, that's about it. A major change is the inclusion of low-gravity combat on the outside of the ship. Space has never looked so beautiful.
Next they talked about Reflection which IS a remake of the Halo 2 classic, Ivory Tower. Is it exactly the same? No, but they say you will have no trouble adjusting to the few minor changes they made. These include a giant hologram of the planet Reach, a higher ceiling, real, swimming Koi fish, more rocks, and a new Asian-looking theme.
Their next topic was the all-new multiplayer invasion map Spire. They reveal that it IS possible to land after jumping from Spire's top ledge, but only if you land in specific areas. A major change from Boneyard is the fact that the Spartans are the ones attacking and the Elites are on Defence. Also, they say that the Falcon is indeed usable in this map, in order to assault the Elites at the top of the tower.
Next on their list was vehicles; the recently-announced Revenant is a Covenant vehicle, similar to the Wraith but smaller, with a weaker mortar with a smaller arc, but a increase in the rate of fire. The Revenant is capable of maneuvering much easier then the wraith and is more adept at splattering. The rocket-hog is pretty self explanatory. They go on to say the Falcon can seat up to 5 in Campaign, but only three in multiplayer madness. In campaign, you may find some other, stronger mounted guns (they didn't go into specifics) but again, things are toned down for multiplayer by only allowing the user to utilize mounted machine gun turrets. There are two of said turrets, one on each side of the Falcon.
Next they detailed the few selections of armor permutation you will be using when you play as Elites, either in Invasion, Covenant Slayer or FireFight VS. Check the weekly update for the actual pictures.
They ended this week's update by showing off a few hilarious photo shopped pictures including a HD wallpaper showing the Forklift in all it's glory, and a modified version of Carter that was eerily reminiscent of George Clooney. Scary.
Topped with a Blame Stosh I'm sure I've seen before, thus ends one of the less-informative but none the less entertaining Bungie Weekly Updates.
I actually read all of that.
ReplyDeleteDoes that say something about the self-proclaimed, neverhaveneverwillbe gamer? xD
