Never Forget...

With the coming of Reach, I believe that we, as a community, should not forget one of our old friends. The friend who showed us the beauty of Theater, the fledgling start of Forge, the amazing possibilities of Custom Games, the various armours that could make your Spartan unique, and if you view it as such, the addictive fun of Firefight. I speak, of course, of Halo 3.

As bright, and shiny, and awesome as Reach will no doubt be, I still believe that we should not forget where many of the refinements, and improvements in Reach started. If it weren't for the tricks we found in Forge, we likely wouldn't have had the fantastic new tools we have in Forge 2.0. If it weren't for the crazy things the community did with Custom games, or rather, the combination of Forge and Custom games we made, we wouldn't have all of the tiny little nuances available to us in Reach. If it weren't for the beginning of Armour customisation, we wouldn't have the massive Armoury in Halo: Reach. If it weren't for the addition of Firefight, then we wouldn't have it's close cousin, Firefight 2.0, and all of it's crazy possibilities, such as Gruntpocalypse, and Firefight Versus.

So, when the time comes, on September 14th, don't forget your old friend. Don't forget the basis of all the wonderful things we have to work with in Halo: Reach. Don't forget... Halo 3.
